System Value
For utility control rooms, multi-site operators and integration teams that need a consistent view of assets, events and follow-up. A map can show where a device is located, but useful operations also require its status, the event time and the next responsible action. This system view focuses on data connections and record handover. The Platform page describes the software workflow; this page explains the information that workflow needs.
System Components and Responsibilities
- Asset and device records
- Agree identifiers, locations and the relationship between devices and assets. An asset location should not be mistaken for a precisely located leak source.
- Data connection
- Review available interfaces, timestamps, units and reporting states. Data from different instruments should retain its measurement meaning and quality context.
- Map, status and trends
- Scope the views required by operators, including alarms, device state and available pressure or odorization trends. A missing update is not evidence of normal operation.
- Inspection and closure
- Link events with assigned work, field findings and verification records where included. Completion of a work order alone does not prove the risk has been resolved.
